Classified Staff Leadership Academy 2008
The VCCS Office of Professional Development is pleased to announce the 2008 Classified Staff Leadership Academy, to be held June 10-13, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Select Koger South, Richmond, Virginia.
This wonderful professional development activity is limited to one classifed staff person per Virginia Community College campus. A variety of workshops, discussion groups, training sessions, and seminars are scheduled in this exciting skills development, career enhancement, and networking experience with colleagues throughout the Commonwealth. Participants should come prepared to participate fully in the entire academy.
Who may attend
VCCS presidents are welcome to nominate one staff person per campus. Please be aware the VCCS Professional Development Program will support the full tuition for one attendee per campus, but participants' travel costs will be up to the colleges. Also, in the event a registrant must cancel, the college should find a replacement.
The VCCA is also offering one scholarship to this event. Current members in good standing are welcome to apply. Please contact Sharon Hutcheson at shutcheson@vccs.edu for more information.
Registration forms due May 23rd
The registration form will be included with attendee's invitation, and should be completed and returned to the Office of Professional Development by May 23.
Hotel reservations deadline is June 3rd
Once you have received your invitation and registration form, please call the Holiday Inn by June 3rd at 804.379.3800 to make your room reseravation. While Professional Development will cover room, tax, and all but one dinner for this event, individuals will still be asked to provide a credit card for guarantee, incidental charges, and will be charged in the event of a no show.
The program will commence Tuesday afternoon, June 10, with registration opening at 3:00 p.m. and a welcoming reception at 5:15 p.m. After dinner we will dive right in with the first session. The conference will conclude with a final lunch on Friday. Please check back for more information and the full agenda.
